Frequently asked questions about back pain, posture, feet and coordination

The questions we are asked most often, with direct answers: back and neck pain, posture, feet, coordination, sport, assessment and paths.

What does Don’t Care do?
We observe how you move and build a personalised training path. Metodo DC brings together three readings — movement, biomechanics and breathing — to understand how the body organises itself and handles load, and to work on mobility, control and movement awareness. We are a studio in Savona: work happens one to one or in small groups.
How does an assessment work?
We start with a conversation about what you feel and how your day goes, then we observe movement: how you walk, bend and rotate, how much range and control you have, how you breathe under load. From there we build a path with explicit goals and reference points we can look at again over time. An assessment is not a diagnostic examination: it describes how you move today.
I have back pain or feel stiff: can I come?
Yes, if your goal is to understand how you move and to work on mobility, breathing and control. But we set a clear limit: we do not diagnose, we do not treat pain and we do not promise it will disappear. If the pain is acute, long lasting, or you have already seen a doctor, that route comes first; movement work can sit alongside it.
I have poor posture: where do we start?
With a movement assessment. We look at how you stand, sit and move — closed shoulders, head forward, a stiff back, an unbalanced foot strike — and how you breathe. Then we build personalised training on mobility, strength, control and everyday habits such as the desk, the smartphone and the school bag, with reference points we look at again over time.
Neck tension and tight shoulders after hours at the computer: do you work on this too?
Yes. A stiff neck and tight shoulders are among the most common needs of people who spend many hours at a desk. We look at how your neck, shoulders and spine move, how you breathe and how you organise your posture during the day, and we work on mobility, control and breathing with exercises you can also bring into your work routine.
Flat, high-arched or misaligned feet: can you work with children and adults?
Yes, by working on movement. We look at foot strike, walking and running, balance and the alignment of ankles and knees, and we train foot strength, proprioception and coordination with exercises suited to age. With children the work goes through play and basic movement patterns; if an orthopaedic specialist or an insole is already involved, the path follows their indications.
My child is uncoordinated or clumsy: how do you work?
With movement games and exercises on balance, rhythm, spatial orientation and basic patterns: running, jumping, throwing, catching. We look at how they move, especially after a growth spurt, and build solid motor foundations one to one or in small groups, with parents always informed of what we observe and why.
I play sport and often have knee, ankle or back discomfort: what do you assess?
The sports movement and the way you manage load: foot strike and running, jumps and changes of direction, asymmetries, mobility and breathing. From there we work on movement quality and injury prevention, for amateur and competitive athletes in any discipline.
Balance and mobility with age: is the path suitable after 60 too?
Yes. We work on balance, strength, mobility and breathing with personalised, progressive training, to move with more confidence in everyday actions: walking, climbing stairs, getting up from the floor. It starts with a movement assessment at the studio in Savona.
Is Don’t Care a gym?
No. There is no open-access equipment floor and we do not sell memberships to train on your own. We are a studio: it starts with a movement assessment and continues with a personalised path, one to one or in small groups, always supervised. If you are looking for a gym to train in on your own, we are not what you need.
How is this different from physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a healthcare service, delivered by a licensed professional who assesses and treats clinical conditions. Don’t Care is not a physiotherapy service and does not provide healthcare: we do not diagnose, we do not prescribe treatment and we do not treat pathologies. Our work is about training and movement quality. When a clinical assessment is needed, the right route is a doctor or a physiotherapist, and movement work can sit alongside theirs.
Do you work with children, adults and athletes?
Yes, through three distinct paths. The physiological foundations are the same — movement, breathing, biomechanics — but goals and ways of working differ: solid foundations during growth for children and teenagers, more balance in daily life for adults, movement quality and load management for athletes and sports people.
Where are you? Can it be done online?
The studio is in Savona, at Piazza Guglielmo Marconi 1/3. Assessment and follow-ups can also take place online, while in-person work remains the reference for observing movement closely.
